I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. I’m just an independent who wanders around, what are these crazy people called POLITICIANS trying to do? I am surprised that Barack Obama was able to keep his mind so far. First, you have politicians who have affairs or either pay for escorts; second, you have shady businesses like trying to sell a Senate seat for money and appreciation; third, you have Republicans who do everything in the book except act like a child of God so that the new president can begin his tenure on the wrong foot; and finally you left the president with only a few days left in the country in this great recession while he is going to his new home in Texas!
The whole government is screwed up right now, and my concern for Barack Obama is, can he keep his cool with all this drama and this disorganized government? Can the Democrats really get this country back where it needs to be? What really got me into this whole political thing was the bailout gig. It seems like Wall Street got a rescue, then everyone and their mom came out of the woodwork and wanted a rescue.
The madness of politics
I am also tired of people complaining about anyone who Obama considers an exception to his government. It seems like no matter who Obama appoints, there was something wrong with his choice. They had something to say when he chose Joe Biden, they had something to say when he chose Hillary Clinton, they had something to say when he chose his chief of staff, and now they have something to say about his CIA selection. Personally, I’m happy when January 20th, 2009 comes, so that it can go ahead and finally come into office. The Uhaul truck hasn’t even pulled up to the White House and it’s already bombarded with all this drama!
How American Politics Became So Ineffective
Finally, we cannot forget this Blagojevich and Burris scenario. Even if Burris is accused of nothing other than the whole Blagojevich thing, it is simply dodgy! This is a situation in which you cannot even trust your own governor! And a governor who has a potty mouth like he came straight from the projects. This whole Senate seat drama started because of him and now Burris is probably taking a bottle of Advil somewhere to relieve the headache he has from being dismissed by the Senate floor! All I have to say is that I don’t know what the political world will look like in the next four years, but hopefully these politicians will bring their actions together. But if things are still the same, we might as well send Sarah Palin, Rev. Wright and Jesse Jackson to Washington, DC to get things going!
